Sunday Rewind-and a sneak peek of goodies!

I am so thankful this week is over! It's been crappy because I have been sick. But it only lasted about 3 days!

Our friend that is doing our tile had to go back to Maine for a family emergency, so right now we are at a standstill until Tuesday.

Since our kitchen is in shambles and we can't use the oven, and we have no furniture in the living room, we have been eating a ton of take out in the comfort of our bedroom :\ I did make us crock pot food Saturday night and it was delish!

I got quite a bit of crafting done Saturday though! I am working on a huge project right now...and although I can't reveal all of the details, I am able to give a few sneak peeks below:









I will be able to do full reveal soon......... :)

Well, we are leaving my in-laws right now (thank God) so I will end this by saying goodnight!

Sunday Rewind

Happy rainy Sunday! We had a bit of a downpour about an hour ago and it's really nice outside right now!

So far this week flew by! Nothing really happened during the week...we did pick out a couple tile samples here and there and finally decided on a nice dark brown. We'll go buy it this week and have it installed within the next couple weeks.

Saturday night we went to the casino for a couple hours and came out ahead :)

Yesterday was a stamp and scrapbook expo in Glendale. I went with my mom.....we walked in, spent about 20 minutes wandering around and left. So disappointing.....not many stamp/scrap related booths and way too many people crammed in a small space. There were just so many random companies there selling candles, purses, clothes, jewelry, etc. We did however take a walk over to Creative Quest and spent money there :) Afterward we went to a couple thrift stores, Hobby Lobby and the bookstore.

Today we did more tile sample shopping, visited my dad at work and had lunch.

Now I am off to organize some papers and finish a journal :)

Superbowl Sunday---Rewind!

Happy Sunday! It's a nice day outside, and I am choosing to stay inside and get caught up on some art projects. Here's how my week went down:

M-Th I worked. and worked. and worked. It was a very long week for me.

Friday my mom and I took a Kelly Kilmer class at Frenzy Stamper and had a blast!

Saturday my husband and I went to Paradise Bakery for lunch. He headed to work and I stayed at home and did some crafting. Oh, my order from Carpe Diem came in (ordered some Ciao Copics) and was so happy! Not only did they come in super quickly, they shipped it Priority rather than Fed Ex and saved me $6. They are the cheapest around and will be ordering from them again soon!

Today I dropped off Jan's Copic order, got some Pei Wei for lunch and will be heading to the PO soon to drop off a swap that's due soon.

I am not a football fan by any means, but might tune in for the halftime performance and see what the score is. Hope everyone has a good week ahead!

Sunday Rewind

Happy Sunday! We just got done watching the Kardashians and the Grammys, and are about ready to go to bed. Here is how my week went down:

-Worked all week and applied for another HR job. Cross my fingers---I hope this is the one!
-Friday night we decided to go to the casino on a whim. I spent 20 bucks. Not a big gambler but my husband likes blackjack, so I watched him mostly.
-Saturday my mom, Jane and I went to a sewing and quilting show. I found the quilting foot I needed for my machine so I can do free motion....I pretty much suck at it now but I hope that with some more practice it will look better! I also picked up a lace dying kit, so once I get a chance to rummage through my lace I'll see what I can dye.
-Today my husband and I did some shopping and ate a late lunch.

All in all it was a pretty un-eventful week, although the sewing and quilting show was fun.

Sunday Rewind-a day late!

So here is what happened in my life last week:

-My birthday was on Wednesday, and the hubs took me out to Cheesecake Factory so I could get one of my most favorite dishes--Chicken Picatta minus the mushrooms and capers. ;) I also had a piece of the coconut creme cheesecake...TO DIE FOR! I also received beautiful flowers from him and from my best friend at work that made a lot of people oohh and aaahhh! :)
-Thursday was my MIL's b-day so we took her to Macayo's.
-Speaking of Thursday....we had one of the worst storms we had in years. It rained for 2 days straight, roads were flooded and blocked off all around town. Trees fell on cars, tornado warnings across the state...it was crazy! In Flagstaff several stores were damaged due to the huge amount of snow on the roofs.
-Friday night we (husband's side of the family) went to Pancho's for Mexican Buffet to celebrate mine, my SIL and MIL b-day's.
-Saturday my mom and I went and did a ton of shopping at Joann's, Big Lots, Savers and the new Hobby Lobby that opened up about 5 miles from me. She made us our favorite Pork Chops and Nefflies for dinner. After dinner we shopped at Michael's and totally forgot to use our gift cards!
-Sunday was spent relaxing and doing a whole lot of nothing!
-I also interviewed for a new position last week at work and was turned down. Reason? I talked too fast in my interview. I not only have the skill set to do the job (and do most of what the role is in my current position anyway), but was told I impressed the HELL out of the 9 people on the panel interview.....but because I talked too fast in my interview they gave it to someone else. It's one hell of a cop-out excuse....and it leads me to believe (like always) they had someone in mind for the job before any of us interviewed. So I applied for something else and will get my interview for that soon....so we'll see. Something else will come along eventually. :)
-Tonight I made pozole for dinner, and it was to die for! I topped it off with a fruit custard tart for dessert and am stuffed!

I am headed to bed in a few. Night!

Weekly Rewind and an early b-day present!

So I didn't get a chance to post my rewind on Sunday since we were traveling home and had dinner plans, so I am doing it today!

-I only worked 4 days last week. It was nice to get a 3 day weekend!

-On my 3 day weekend, we went to Flagstaff to enjoy the snow. I got to visit with my cousin that I hadn't seen or really visited with in about 20 years. I really hope I can go back and visit again, or see her when she comes down here!

-Sunday we took my in-laws to Ah So (tepanyaki) and of course ate until we were about to bust.

-My good friend Liz sent me a package of goodies to work on for her site (design team work), and she also bout me this for my bday:
A starter set of Copics!!! I almost screamed when I saw the box!! I have always wanted to play with them, but was intimidated by not only the price of each marker, but the learning curve that supposedly comes with it. Well, our mutual friend Jan invited me over to show me how to use these, and I couldn't be more grateful!!!

That's about it for last week. To start off this week nicely, I went to my parents house for dinner tonight, which was of course delish as always. I am watching Monster's Inc and will be headed to bed in a bit. Oh, and I am still staring at my X-Mas tree that I still haven't taken down..... :)

Sunday Rewind

Hi everyone!

So I was sitting here at work, and decided I am going to start something new. I am going to steal something off two of my fellow US Design Team girlies....Jeryn and Hollie. Basically doing a re-cap of my week. Here goes!

I signed up for next semester and can only get into 1 class. I waited too long and everything else I need is booked up. Philosophy 105 here I come! After this class, only 6 more to go!

I haven't been able to do anything in my craft room this week because I was working 12-9, but did manage to get my 10 Rolodex done for my group swap and get those off in the mail yesterday. Jane, they are postal!! :) I have a few more projects I need to start ASAP before I completely forget about them!

On Saturday we went to our friend's daughter's one year birthday party. We got her this toy elephant that wiggles it's ears and raises it's trunk and blows kisses....well she liked the bag it came in more than the actual toy!!!

We also went and celebrated a birthday for one of Darrin's co-workers last night. We couldn't stay long because Darrin had to be up at 3:30 to go to work, but it's alright because it was kind of lame anyhow....

I also had every intention of taking my Xmas tree down, but I got sick and didn't feel like it and don't know when it's going to come down. For all I care it can stay up until next year. We rarely have anyone over to our house since we kind of live off in the boonies.....so what does it matter, right? LOL!

I kind of have a boring life and well, didn't really do too much last week!!! This upcoming week will be a little more exciting....we are taking a weekend and going to Flagstaff Friday with my brother in law and one of his sons. Darrin's treating me for my birthday :). I am also going to have lunch with my cousin that I haven't seen in quite some time up there, so that will be really nice.

One of my other goals this year is to blog more often! Normally I only do it once a week. I vow to post ALL of the stuff I make and just talk more often! Somehow I just expect people to come to my blog, but really...if I don't post anything and if I don't visit other blogs, why do I complain?!? I am also making it a point to visit blogs on a regular, once a week basis and leave love! It's only the right thing to do.

I hope everyone has a great week..............I have a short 4 day week and will be off to Northern AZ come Friday...no worries though my laptop will be traveling with us and I'll be updating and posting pics along the way!
