Simple card and swap stuff

I had a bit of extra time tonight, so I decided to ink up my March Unity kit and make a simple card:

I paper pieced the umbrella and colored in her jacket and skin with Prisma colored pencils and OMS. The paper is from DCWV Mi Casa stack and the rub-ons are Karen Foster.
This is a 4x4 page that I made for our monthly swap on our Yahoo group. April's theme is kite, so I sewed together a kite using scraps of upholstery fabric. The page itself is made from paper bags melted together.
This is also for a monthly swap in our Yahoo group. This month's Rolodex theme was circles.

Rolodex swap & Funky Swap

For our Yahoo group, we are doing an alphabet Rolodex swap February and March, and I chose 'b' and 'o' of course, so I did a bird and owl. I tried my free motion foot and am pleased with the result:

And in the same yahoo group we are doing a year of funky holiday's, and February is Crossword Puzzle Month. Here is my take on the theme:

I finished these all up throughout the day.

Happy Mail Day!

I received some awesome happy mail the other day and I want to share these beauties to everyone, and hope that you'll take a peek at these ladies' Etsy shops and do some Christmas shopping!

Meg was one of my partners in the Swap, Shop and Blog exchange. I received a beautiful knitted rose pin and a set of pretty hair pins. She does amazing work...it's well crafted, very stylish and will definitely use these products weekly, if not daily. This is her amazing Etsy shop.

My other partner was Mavis. I received a beautiful handmade necklace and earring set and a gorgeous set of cocktail napkins. She has two etsy shops.....here and here. These colors are totally my style and I have a feeling that I'll be wearing the heck out of the beautiful jewelry!!!

I had such a good time in this swap, and look forward to doing another one again!!!

Unscripted Sketches #26

Happy Saturday!!! Here is today's sketch and sample:

I decided to use this sketch to come up with my altered rolodex that I do each month for a special Yahoo group I am in. It's a Halloween theme this month, so I had to dig out what little Halloween paper and embellishments I had. I'm happy with the way it turned out!

Come check us out at Unscripted Sketches this week, and see what all of the other great designers have come up with this week!

Did a little catching up...

Happy Friday! Hope everyone is having a good day!

I have had the last 2 days off from work, so I decided to catch up on some swaps that I joined through various Yahoo and Swap-Bot groups. One swap that I joined was a Halloween ATC Swap....these are the 3 I made:

I am not sure if you can see it in the pic, but I put some Pearl-Ex powder on the orange and black paint to give it some shimmer. That stuff is sooo messy, but gives the coolest effects!
I did a little bit of shopping at Michael's and Target today. Target is finally starting to carry Ink a Dink a Do stamps...I was happy to see that! Michael's also got a ton of acrylic stamps in. It seems like they are fading out of wood stamps and getting more acrylic in.
Tonight DH and I are going out to eat. We haven't been out to eat at a nice restaurant in so long, it will be nice to get out of the house...just the two of us.
Don't forget, tomorrow is Saturday and that means a new sketch at Unscripted Sketches. See you then!

I made this little guy for a bird ATC swap I joined over at swap bot. We have 1 partner and only need to make one. I found the multi colored canvas at a thrift store....about 3 yards for 2 bucks. The green material was some clearance stuff at Walmart. I hand cut the bird. It'll be going in the mail this week.

Happy Sunday

I made this card for Natalie's challenge at Scrappin' Coast 2 Coast. We needed to make something with 'white space".

These are my Rolodex for the monthly swap on my yahoo group. The theme was colors, and mine was pink.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday! Don't forget to check out the newest sketch over at Unscripted Sketches, as well as the month long crop over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast.

And these two cuties are for my friend and her mom:

They are each filled with some buttons, gems, beads....just little things that I thought would look pretty!
