Shabby Canvas Pennant Project
1. Take the pennant apart off the rings and coat each side with gesso and let them dry completely. If you are not familiar with gesso, it is basically a primer for any type of porous fabric, paper, etc. It prevents bleed through and creates an even work surface. It comes in several colors....white, black, grey, ivory, clear, etc.Posted by April Hall at 5:00 AM 2 comments

The pattern paper used is from Nikki Sivils Flaming Butterfly 6x6 pad (the cut out frog and hearts) found in the Thoughts 2 Paper store. The flower stamp is from Unity, and the sentiment is Unity as well. The tag is a die cut from Thoughts 2 Paper. I inked the edges with a black ink pad and tied off the top with some ribbon from my scrap bucket. Posted by April Hall at 5:00 AM 0 comments

Tag you're it!
So when my good friend Liz came out a few months back, she had die cut a bunch of flowers from a book. I "stole" some and told her I had to have some!Posted by April Hall at 8:42 PM 1 comments

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun summery card to show you using product from Thoughts 2 Paper:
This card was made using Sassafras Nerdy Bird papers, the sentiment is a foam stamp that I have had for ages. I did the stamping off technique to create the gradient look. The star stamp is from a clear set I received as a gift, and I used fine pink glitter in the center.

So yesterday my mom came over and we hung out pretty much all day. We had plans, but they fell through...so we decided to make it a day just the two of us and we could not have had a better time. We did lunch at Paradise, went to the hardware store and bought "art making supplies", saw a robot kid at Target, farted around my house, watched my mom for the SECOND time get a nickel stuck in my sewing machine, ate dinner, and finished up or "Dina" journals....which I'll be posting mine later this week. She got to take her class this past week and I am so jealous because I really REALLY wanted to go..but had to work :(
Tonight we are doing dinner at my parents....sort of a last dinner before they move in 6 days. They are VERY excited to finally be moving...and I am happy for them. Yes, it will be sad because I won't be able to call my dad over to help fix things, or have shopping excursions with my mom....but I'm happy knowing they will be happier there. I'll have to find a new art partner in crime!!

Happy Mother's Day
I always have to make 2 cards...one for my mom and one for the mother-in-law. The first one was made at my Stampin' Up! Club that I attend every other month:
And this one for my MIL was made using product that can be found in the Thoughts 2 Paper store:
Today we are having lunch with my MIL, and I am making homemade lasagna for my mom and family for dinner. I hope all of the mom's out there have a great day!
