'Nother acetate box and a card

This is the second acetate box I've made using Lauren's instructions here. I really enjoy making these and experimenting with different types of candies/chocolates to put in it. I used York peppermint patties for this one, and used my scallop punch from SU for the design on the top of each candy. Then I stamped the snowflake on top using my Merry set from SU. I used a smaller snowflake from the set to stamp in the tag, and then put some Diamond Stickles over the stamped image. The sentiment is from the Take a Bough set from Papertrey Ink. Oh, and I took a piece of white grosgrain ribbon and used a cotton ball to swipe some Taken with Teal chalk from SU over each side of the ribbon, then sprayed it with an acrylic sealer. I LOVE how the ribbon turned out!

My good scrappin' friend Teresa came over on Wednesday night and we made the box above, as well as I used her new CTMH set and made this card:

I really like this set! I have a couple sets like it that are made by Technique Tuesday, but haven't played with them yet. I like how this doesn't have much dimension to it. I stamped the flower petals and sentiment in Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from a set of $1 clear stamps from Michaels. The brad and piece of ribbon are from my stash (I'm pretty sure the ribbon came from Michaels.) I traced each petal in Diamond Stickles and it looks like each has an outline of gold, which I think looks so cool! Here is a close up of the glitter:

That's pretty much it! I have most of my cards ready to go in the mail for Xmas. I actually didn't make enough, so I had to run to M's tonight to get some more stuff!

Here's something not scrappy related. I went to Target tonight and bought a pack of the Biore nose strips, as I noticed my nose was lookin' a little scrubby. So I tried it, left it on for the 15 minutes or so (as the package says to do). MAN, that little bugger HURTS when you pull it off! Has anyone else used these? What's your opinion on these? I will say that it removed a LOT of gunk from my pores, and my nose feels so much smoother! I will definitely use the rest of the pack. :)

Ok, we had to dig out the heated blanked tonight. We had rain all day, and it's about 58, which is a little chilly for us here in AZ! I'll try and post some stuff tomorrow, I have another un-eventful weekend off, and I'll be doing nothing but scrappin'! Have a good night!

These projects are great. It is amazing what you can do with acetate. Love the card too. I need to work on some sets for gifts today.

Good info on the nose strips. I might look into those but I hate pain :(

Have a good one!

I love you acetate box! So cute! Funny story about those Biore strips...my friends husband found some of hers in the drawer and decided to try one. When he pulled it off his nose it ripped off a patch of skin. We all went out later that night and she made sure to tell us to ask Kurt what happened to his nose. hehehe We called him Rudolf the rest of that night. I've used them before and never had any problem.
