Today starts a long week at work, working 12-9 each day. BLECH. But I guess the bright side is that I can sleep in a little bit! Tomorrow I start school again, which will be exciting. I'm taking the class with my teacher from my first math class and I really like his style.
So over the weekend I decided to get my hair cut and styled by Darrin's gal. WOW is all I can say. she did an amazing job and will definitely be going back! In fact I'm going back in 2 weeks to get caramel highlights. Saturday night we went to my parents for my birthday dinner....Goulash! One of my favorites! Then for dessert we had Tres Leche. DELISH! Sunday I ran to the post office, dollar store, and had birthday dinner with Darrin's side of the family. After that we ran to Target so I could get a new flat iron for my hair. I also spent the weekend working on and finishing my pages for another chunky book swap. The theme is denim, so this is what I came up with:

I cut up an old pair of jeans since I didn't have any other denim fabric. I also finally found a use for the baggie of iridescent flakes that I've had for a few years. I sprinkled them on the wings of the cuties over a layer of modge podge and sealed them with an acrylic sealer so they wouldn't become detached. I used alcohol inks over each of the metallic words. I think they came out pretty cute! Now I have to work on 20 pages for a gold swap that are due in 2 weeks!

They have turned out great, I agree with Teresa, they would look good as a quilt
