Hi everyone! Hope your week is going well. Just wanted to play catch up and post what's been going on in my little ol' life:
-School is almost done this semester. I have one more unit to complete and as of 12/16, I'll be free of classes until mid January. Only 5 more classes to go!!!!
-I finally got my sewing machine fixed. Anyone in the metro Phoenix area that needs to get their machine fixed, head down to Miller Appliances in downtown Glendale. They are really friendly and will fix it at a really, really good price.
-Work is good. We have a new leader for the 7 of us in my department, and she kick ass. I can't wait until she's ramped up and ready to really get things going for us.
-My great friend Liz has something totally awesome in the works.....I can't tell you any more than that, but it's gonna be GOOD and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it.......so stay tuned! (don't these types of teasers suck?!? :) )
-I am still plugging away on various swaps...........it keeps me busy and gives me a purpose for creating. That's how I work...I can't just create something and have it sit there...it needs to be for someone/something.
-This weekend my mom and I are going out to SAS and stockpiling on fabric and notions and will probably get some lunch and hit some thrift stores since we didn't get a chance to do it last time we were together. For those of you not familiar with SAS, it's a huge warehouse of discounted and discontinued fabric, notions, lace, ribbon, buttons, etc.....anything you can think of that is fabric/sewing related.....and it's all at absolute DIRT CHEAP PRICES! You can never get out of that store for less than 50 bucks, minimum!!! If anyone wants to tag along, hit me up. The more the merrier!
-My friend Jane has an article in the latest Sew Somerset publication out now. My mom was SUPPOSED to be in it, but they were sneaky and didn't publish her.........that has really struck a nerve with me, but I won't go into anymore about it here publicly, but please go buy a copy and support Jane because she does awesome work. I'll be getting my copy this weekend along with the newest Art Quilting Studio.
-I am pretty sure I'll be attending Art Unraveled this upcoming year with my mom and will be taking a class from Jane. I just need to start saving RIGHT NOW! :)
-As for the rest of my immediate family, my husband is just finishing his first semester at ASU. Everyone else is doing good.
I'll see you all this Saturday for the next Unscripted Sketches challenge!
