Christmas in July @ Unscripted-Christmas Tag Time!

Over at Unscripted Sketches, we are celebrating Christmas in July every day of the month! Today I am being featured over at US, and I have some creations to share with you today.

I like to get started on my Christmas crafting a couple months in advance, and one thing I really enjoy making are tags for gift bags. I have made 3 different ones for you today, using 3 different techniques.

This first tag was created with using only 4 "ingredients": paper, sticker, rub-on and ribbon. Oh, and the tag, but that's a gimme :) I left it blank because I wasn't sure what greeting I wanted on it, and thought it was add a nice touch to have a hand written sentiment on it when I was ready to give it. The paper, sticker and rub-on are from Imaginisce and the ribbon is from Michael's.

This tag was made using just a few items as well. I took a tag and painted it in red. I edged it by dipping the tip of my finger in green paint and running it along the sides. I had a sheet of Doodlebug Designs paper that had all Christmas words and phrases, so I cut out a few of them, glued them down and had a nice tag to go along with a gift. To seal it, I used Gel Medium. I love using Gel Medium over Modge Podge...it just gives a cleaner look and isn't as messy and doesn't show brush strokes as much as Modge Podge does. So not only does Gel Medium work as a sealer, but it's a great adhesive for mixed media projects.

This last card again, used minimal product. I cut out and glued down some Doodlebug Designs paper and then inked the edges in red. I also had a sticker from Doodlebug, so I cut it out and used some dimensional spots to raise it up off the tag. I folded a piece of red ribbon behind it, then stamped the sentiment and placed that on dimensionals too, inked the edges and added some ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope I was able to provide you with a little bit of insight as to how I created these and how easy and quick it can be to create simple yet pretty gift tags for any occassion.
