Gamsol anyone?

I have seen this technique used everywhere on SCS and wanted to try it. So I headed to Micheal's and Ace to get the stuff to get started. I loaded up on blending stumps, colored pencils and odorless mineral spirit. I bought Mona Lisa brand...just an 8oz to start with.

I don't have any Prisma pencils, so I figured I'd get a cheapie pack of Rose Art (72 count). I started playing around with the OMS (let me tell ya, it was a PAIN to pour into my little container!). I used the Doodle This set from SU, dug up some scraps and put together a really quick card. The longest part was doing all of the coloring and blending, but it's really fun! I am going to have to buy more stamps with more open images so I can do this technique more! Anyhow, this is how it turned out:

I read a lot on SCS about what type of paper or pencils work best with this. I tried it on WW card stock and the inexpensive stuff from Michaels. WW was the BEST that I tried. It blended really well. My Rose Art and Crayola pencils seemed to work just fine with this. As long as it's a wax based colored pencil I don't think it matters really. You can't tell from the picture but I did use Stickles on the mini petals and in the center of it. Anyhow....let me know what you think. Have you tried this technique? I would love to see your stuff if you have, or what you think of it. I really like it so far and I've realized I need to stockpile WW card stock...that stuff is GREAT!
