8 things about my marriage...

I got this off my friend Amie's blog, and I figured I'd talk about MY marriage......since I never really have done so on my blog! So here goes:

1. Where did you meet your husband?
I met Darrin while working at Target my senior year in highschool 1999. I was a Cashier Team Leader and he was a Security guard. The first time he talked to me was when I was eating some canned beef stew (Go Dinty Moore!) and he asked me if he could come to my house and eat some stew with me!!!
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
Well, beings that he asked me if he could come over and have some stew with me, I think I said something along the lines of "SURE!"........
3. Where was your first date & kiss?
We had our first date about a week after we met. We went to dinner at Denny's and then went to a park off 67th and Camelback (LOVELY area, especially late at night). We sat on a bench for hours and just talked. When he dropped me off at home around 2 am he kissed me goodnight.
4. Did you have a long or short engagement?
LOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG. We were engaged in 2000 and married in 2004.
5. Where did you get engaged?
In Darrin's bedroom while he was living with his parents! No joke! We were getting ready to go to Black Angus (romantic, I know....but we were only 19!) to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and before we left he got on one knee and asked me to marry him.
6. Where did you get married?
The Windham Resort in Phoenix. It was an outdoor wedding by the pool. It was so so nice. All of our friends and family were there and we had a blast. The food was wonderful, the DJ was great, and it was so fun. The best part about my wedding was that my grandma made my wedding dress. I'll never forget that.
7. How did the reception go?
BEAUTIFULLY! Nothing went wrong, and if it did, I still don't know about it! The dances were great, the music was good, food was awesome, people were teriffic. If I could do it all over again I would...
8. How was the honeymoon?
Wonderful. We went to Vegas and stayed in a suite at the Luxor. We saw The Blue Man Group, went to Mandalay Bay to see the marine exhibit, went to the Venetian and took a gondola ride and had our picture taken on the boat with the singing guy, we went to the Star Trek exhibit at the Hilton, and walked around. It was nice.

So that's it in a nutshell. We're going on 4 years of marriage in April and plan on going to San Diego again to celebrate. No kids yet, just 1 dog and 5 cats (that's plenty right now!). Everything is good!
